Sketched in pencil, everything else done in Painter

A Christmas-y picture, started a couple of days before Christmas 2005, and completed a few days after the holiday. Working in CG, I almost always end up with thick, noticeable lineart; I didn't want that here -- because, after all, in nature there are no naturally occurring lines, just contrast between colors and shades.

And don't ask what the inspiration was for this, because I couldn't really tell you. Perhaps I'm angling to become the cover artist for romance novels set in the 19th century or something.
