Shoko Suzuki is a talented singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who has worked with Puffy several times through the years. Her first composition to appear on any sort of Puffy record was "Watashi no Nozomi," which closed Yumi's half of solosolo. Shoko then showed up all over Fever*Fever - she fully wrote "Kirei na Namida ga Tarinai yo" and "Koi no Line Ai no Shape," plus she co-wrote the lyrics to "Taiyo." In addition to that, she provided backing vocals to both "Kirei na Namida ga Tarinai yo" and "Koi no Line Ai no Shape," and even played the pounding drum track on the latter song. Shoko's last credit (to date) on a Puffy album was for writing the lyrics to "Angel of Love," off of Nice.
This DVD is billed as Shoko's "self-biography"; most of the footage on the disc is taken from a live performance in 2004, but that is intercut with archival footage of Shoko's past performances, an interview with Shoko, and select interviews with other musical figures conducted by Shoko herself. Of interest to Puffy fans is Shoko's interview with Yumi, which is shown at sporadic points in the film. Also, there is a very short clip of both Ami and Yumi performing in concert with Shoko - however, the footage has no audio, so I don't know what song they were performing.
Obviously this DVD is of minimal interest to even the most hardcore of Puffy fans, unless you also happen to be a fan of Ms. Suzuki (as I am). Still, I thought it would be nice to display some screencaps of Yumi from the film, as many fans are unlikely to have seen this film before.
