Puffy's first full-length album (and thus recognized as their "1st album" in official discographies), and probably their most well-known. Even the most casual of Puffy fans probably know at least half of this album, as no fewer than seven tracks from this CD were released on their Japanese and U.S. greatest hits packages. But there's plenty to like beyond the singles, with Tamio Okuda once again indulging in a bit of experimentation here and there, resulting in some slightly psychadelic pop rock ("Cake Is Love"), some slightly psychadelic heavy rock ("Kobijin"), more conventional hard rock ("Jet Keisatsu", "De Rio"), and - like amiyumi - jazz (Ami's "Lemon Kid"). Additionally, there are some gorgeous guitar-based ballad-type songs in the mix elsewhere ("Haru no Asa", Yumi's "Tetsugaku").

As for the singles themselves, they mostly stick to '60s-inspired, guitar based pop/rock ("Kore ga Watashi no Ikirumichi" - with a very Beatley harp solo in the middle, "Ai no Shirushi", "Circuit no Musume", "Mother"), with the occasional detour into disco ("Nagisa ni Matsuwaru EtCetera") and synth-horn-driven rock ("Nehorina Hahorina"). This is probably the safest Puffy album to start your collection with (not counting hits collections), but don't stop here.

If you want to buy the disc, CDJapan is probably your best bet. This is one of the few Puffy discs from before 2004 that is still in print (most likely due to its popularity).

Notes:

  • Yumi is credited with playing gut guitar and acoustic piano on the album.
  • Six songs from this album - "Kore ga Watashi no Ikirumichi", "Circuit no Musume", "Nagisa ni Matsuwaru Et Cetera", "Mother", "Nehorina Hahorina", and "Ai no Shirushi" - were released on various singles before Jet CD, with only "Ai no Shirushi" being released less than four months before the album's release. "Kore ga Watashi no Ikirumichi", "Circuit no Musume" and "Nagisa ni Matsuwaru Et Cetera" were all released before even solosolo and its singles.
  • The music video for "Kore ga Watashi no Ikirumichi" is on Run! Puffy! Run!, while the videos for "Circuit no Musume," "Nagisa ni Matsuwaru EtCetera," "Mother," "Neholina Hahorina" and "Ai no Shirushi" are on Jet DVD.
  • The opening of “Jet Keisatsu” closely resembles the opening of the Who's “Won't Get Fooled Again.”
  • “De Rio” and “Circuit no Musume” crossfade into each other.
